11 months old

You have 3 teeth now and you are drooling a lot-one at the bottom, 2 at the top.

Here's your development so far:
- can stand up by your own and manage to make 2 steps forward.
- only crawl like army style instead of on your knees.
- point at places you want to go and things you want to hold.
- able to sit and listen while I hold a book & read to you.

9 months

You had 2nd round of HFMD. Initially, mommy thought you caught chicken pox from yeh yeh. He was having shingles and daddy pass you to yeh yeh on his birthday when we're at the restaurant. After seeing the doctor, he confirmed that you got HFMD and not chicken pox as the blisters were all around your elbow and knees. You started with a fever first followed by inflammed throat. Then the blisters. With all these, you still manage to eat the porrige. Doc gave you oral aid, to be taken before your meals for temporary relieve. Then mommy got HFMD from you, next was kakak Soyi, then ZY. Mommy's ulcers hurt so much and only recovered after 10 days. I think you got it from chewing daddy's laptop bag's belt. Anyway, he got rid of that bag and got a new laptop bag now.

We went back to Segamat last weekend and you only survive on bread and rice cereal. You were very playful and go on without any nap, food or drink. Hmmm. Of course, I'd still try to feed you as much as possible. Gong gong gave you ice cream. (OMG!!!) I couldn't stop him but then luckily it was like half a teaspoon. Jie jie had a wonderful time with gong gong. You don't mind strangers to carry you when you are busy looking at new surroundings

Today granny made Salmon fish porridge for you. Granny said you love it. She called to confirm if you can take fish or not. I said no. She said ok and will not give you for the next meal. Haha!!

Recently, you'd cry when mommy goes to work. Oh... I feel so heart ache..

You have been rejecting drinking milk from bottle for few months already. So, mommy bought a new bottle for you with a bigger teat. It's Tommy Tippe. Cost me about RM50. I cut the teat hole to make it bigger so you can easily drink the milk from the bottle. I'm glad you love it and start drinking milk from the bottle. Good boy!! Mommy loves you alot.

Starting the Similac and soy milk, you seem to have diarrhea. Hmm..Guess mommy really have to continue breastfeeding you until you are 2 years old. You love to be breastfed. You chuckle everytime I put you on.

When daddy carry you to make you sleep, you always will make humming sound as if you're singing.

Daddy's friend gave us those baby fence and we took it out to clean and put your walker in it. It's really useful to confine you so that you won't go everywhere and chew everything.

Do you know how much you love your jie jie ZY? You laugh no matter what she does. On the bed, you'll crawl all over her. If she's sleeping, you'll crawl over and touch her. ZY loves you so much that she doesn't mind you pull her hair.It's painful even for mommy.

Now you can move around in the baby cot, sometimes just holding on the bar with one hand. Mind you, you can't really crawl on your knees yet.

8 months old

Recently, you started to cringe your face & pretend to cry whenever something is taken away from you and the moment we return it to you, your expression is back to normal instantly. Haha!!

Last night, mommy played hide & seek with you. I was hiding in the kitchen and you were somewhere at the dining table. You love playing peek-a-boo. After awhile, you came to look for mommy. You have strong legs. Your walker doesn't have wheels but you manage to push the walker to move about. You move about to taste the things in the house!! Granny said all the tables and chairs are your snacks. You reach out to them and lick them. Of course, we always pull you away to stop you from licking further. 

You can crawl on your tummy now. You can push your body up too and do the doggy position. Your hair is so spiky. Granny said whoever has pimples on their face better stay away from you. Otherwise, their pimples will get poked by your spiky hair. Hahahaha!!! Gross, I know. But I thought it's funny too.

You've been resisting bottle since a long time ago. So granny is still feeding you breast milk with spoon. From  9am to 6pm, you consume at least 10 oz of breast milk. Besides that, you're also taking solid food like porrige with vege for breakfast and lunch, rice cereal - chicken/vege/ikan bilis flavour with breast milk for dinner.

You can sit independently about 5 seconds. Haha!! You drool alot. 

You're down with flu, cough and phlegm since Saturday. Doctor said you need to be nebulized.

Last 2 nights, daddy and I brought you to the hospital to be nebulized to get rid of the phlegm. You cried terribly. I think you dislike the mask to cover your face and the sound. You poor little thing. But the nebulizer works best if you cry. Last time when you were younger, you didn't cry when you were put on the nebulizer and the effect wasn't as good as this time. You have 4 types of medicine to take and the one which makes you vomit is the antibiotic which has little white powder in it. So mommy has to be extra careful when feeding you antibiotic, bit by bit so you won't vomit & let you rest many times in between to finish off the 3 types of medication. 

It's so difficult to put on clothes for you because you just can't lay still. You just have to turn and lay on your tummy. Luckily we have kakak Soyi to help. 

You're very playful and sometimes I think you want to be tickled or you probably want to crawl for awhile on granny's bed before you sleep. You also laugh easily especially at night.

There were 2 occasions where you suddenly cry in the middle of the night and mommy couldn't wake you up. Granny heard and quickly ran out from her room to carry you. Both of us kept calling your name and make all sorts of sounds to wake you up. You were crying in your sleep and couldn't wake up.

6 months old

Lately, you started saying "mama ma ma ma ma.." which means carry me with a frown and abit of tears. Haha! You love standing too. It's really difficult to carry you nowadays especially you don't want the person that carries you to sit down. You are drinking less milk and so, granny has to spoon feed you. Luckily, we have the maid to help because you like to eat your fist and toes at the same time for every feeding. Oh ya, since last month, you've been staying home with granny and ZY has been going to Vital Years with SY. Every morning, yeh yeh/ da gu will pick ZY up and sends her to VY with SY. Then she stays at condo until daddy picks her up in the evening after work.

You've been refusing mommy's breast too lately and that upsets me alot. You're just a baby and you thought you're no more needing breastmilk? Grrr!! Sometimes I just want to bite you. Haha! Mommy loves you alot.

Since you refuse to drink milk most of the time, we have no choice but to top up your meals with cereal. Now, you're having 2 times of cereal everyday.  Sometimes, when you didn't have enough of water/fluid, your nappy will look as if you wee wee blood. There would be stains of blood. The first two times when mommy spotted this, mommy checked with the doctor. She said sometimes when your urine is too concentrated, it can be like that.

Oh ya, apple juice made you cringed. So far, you've had twice apple juice.

Now that you're 6 month old, I'm going to introduce more baby food into your meals. Mommy had to look back jie jie's diary to see what to start you off with. Hehe!!

Some other updates...
We've just went back to Segamat to celebrate CNY. This is your first year celebrating CNY and everybody loved you because you were very cheerful and playful during that few days in Segamat.
The day before we went back, Uncle Adam tried his cutting hair skill on you & you ended up having few bald spots on your head. Don't ask me why I let Uncle Adam to do it. I think it was because granny suggested that you cut your hair and I thought Uncle Adam would be a pro since he's been cutting his own hair all these years. Granny called Uncle Adam to do it that afternoon. Daddy didn't want you to have a hair cut actually but he was sleeping when Uncle Adam came. Mommy was just so blur to think that it could be a bad idea to cut your hair. To get it fixed, daddy suggested we take you to the barber shop. It was a day before 1st day of CNY, so all the chinese hair saloon shop were closed. Our only hope was the indian barber shop. It was mommy's first time entering an indian barber shop. Well, daddy said "They're not as bad as you think". OK. Let give it a try then. You're a hero. You just sat there and didn't cry from the time the barber covered you up with the cloth until he brushed your head with an indian brush. Haha!! He used no.1 shaver to shave your head. Mommy must admit, he's a pro!

When we're in Segamat, lots of people loved to touch your bald head. You're the only baby around this year. So, you got the limelight.

5 months old/Solid food

Granny gave you some rice cereal this morning & you seemed to like it. Then granny called up in the afternoon laughing & told me you really like rice cereal.

We started you on solid now because recently, you didn't quite like drinking milk from the bottle already. When mommy's home, you always want my breast and reject the bottle totally. So, mommy's glad that you like rice cereal. You know, you're 7.5kg now, so you can start to eat solid food now.

Last couple of weeks, you had hand foot mouth disease. ZY got it first, but doctor didn't recognise it because she didn't have spots on her hand and no ulcer in her mouth too. She only had sore throat and mild fever. Then Mommy got it first from jie jie before you. We stayed home for a week. Luckily, Aloclair spray worked for you and so you could drink milk without any fuss. Aloclair is a spray to cover your ulcers. You had about 6 ulcers in your mouth and red spots all over your tiny body, legs, hands, palm & feet. You poor little thing. But overall, you look quite well actually. Initially, we thought you didn't get it and we planned to put you with daddy at condo. So, when daddy noticed your spots on your hands & feet, he called me instantly and said you could stay home since you've got it too. I was so happy that I don't have to stay away from you again. Mommy don't like to be away from you. I'd miss you so much that I'd cry so hard.

I think I didn't mentioned in my previous updates that mommy had to take a week off, half day morning, to take you to hospital for nebulizer. You had lots of phlegm. Mommy's so heartsick.

On & off, you sleep downstairs to avoid getting ZY's germs.

After we recovered from HFMD, Sue Yin and Sue Lynn got it. It was because they hugged you 2 days before you red spots came out. You were taken care by yeh yeh and nai nai while ZY jie jie stayed home because granny wasn't feeling well. Sue lynn suffered badly while Sue Yin was quite alright. Aloclair didn't work well on Sue Lynn. So it was quite a horrible period for her and da gu.

So after SY & SL recovered, just last weekend, ZY jie jie started to go over to condo while you stayed home with granny. Mommy trained Soyi to carry and feed you so that she can help granny sometimes when granny's not feeling so well.

You actually manage to turn over around 4 months old. You like to watch TV alot, even yeh yeh & nai nai said so!! You like to look at pictures. You drool alot too. I think you'll have your first tooth very soon.

Mommy brought you to Siong jiu jiu's wedding dinner the other day -3rd Dec.It was your first time attending function, you didn't like the loud music I think and so, you cried easily when you see strangers. It's unusual.

3 months & 3 weeks old

Since Monday, mommy send you to yeh yeh & nai nai's place with the maid because granny is sick. She has been sick since 16th Oct (almost 3 weeks) since she came back from a weekend getaway with her friends. She's been having slight fever, migraine, back ache and sore throat, but not exactly at that area. It's hard to explain. However, after a thorough check by Sunway Medical Center's doctor, she found out that granny has inflammation on her thyroid gland & her sugar level is slightly higher than the normal range. Doctor already prescribed her 10 days medication and hopefully she'll recover by then. Right now, doctor's advice is for her to relax and avoid anything that can stress her up.

The maid is not very good at her work yet so granny has to cook for jie jie and Mag when they come home from kindergarten around 5:30pm everyday. When granny took care of you, each time she cooks, you never fail to make noise and wanted to be carried. Why? I think you might be tired but having difficulty to fall asleep. As you're growing bigger and bigger now, so does your weight, it's quite difficult for granny not to have backache. At times, you don't settle easily and needs to be carried frequently. It happens especially if mommy had spicy food the day before. Oops....

You're at least 7kg now. Most of the time, yeh yeh is taking care of you because Sue Lynn jie jie is quite glued to nai nai. She's just 1.5 yrs old. But nai nai is the one who bath you, not yeh yeh. On the 1st day, you had couple of short naps. On the second day, you slept almost the whole day and had to be waken up for your feeding. Hahaha!! Your milk consumption has reduced. I'm not sure why. 9am to 9am you only consume about 15oz of milk. It used to be 5oz every 3-4 hours.

Last few nights, when you came home from yeh yeh's place, you laughed easily when we talk to you. Mommy managed to take videos of you laughing.

1st day back from work after 2 months confinement period

You were in granny's room with granny. When you saw me, you had so much to tell me. All the baby bla bla and full of expression. Granny said you didn't even talk to her like that during the day, as if you really know and miss mommy. You were in granny's room because jie jie is not feeling well. Mommy would leave you listening to classical music from the iPhone if I leave you alone in the room to attend to jie jie or to take things for you. Mommy likes to touch your soft hair which seems growing towards your face. Every moment with you is wonderful & makes me smile.
